Think you can tell a compelling story in just 100 words? Now’s your chance!
The Wordbridge Drabble Contest challenges attendees to craft a complete, creative, and powerful story using exactly one hundred words. These bite-sized tales pack a punch and are a great way to sharpen your storytelling skills, flex your creativity, and have some fun with language and theme.
This year’s drabbles must incorporate the conference’s annual theme (posted on our home page!), and the top three entries will win a prize bundle filled with literary goodies and bragging rights.
Contest Details:
- Submissions open: February 1
- Deadline: April 1
- Winners announced during the conference and on social media
- The top 3 finalists, along with up to 5 runners-up, will have their drabbles featured on our Wordbridge social media channels (FB, Insta, our website, and our newsletter) following the conclusion of the competition, leading up to the conference — a great opportunity to share your work with a wider audience!
- 2 weeks before the conference, you will be informed as to whether your submission made Top 3 or was a runner-up.
Important: You must hold a valid Wordbridge ticket and attend the conference in person to participate and collect your prizes if you make the Top 3!
Please note: to submit a drabble, you will be required to grant us permission to publish your work online. Only the top 3 and up to 5 runners-up will be posted publicly. If you are a minor, you need your parent or guardian’s permission and will have to note this on the form. You may elect on the form to include your name/socials or to remain anonymous.
So sharpen those pencils (or keyboards) and get ready to say more with less, because in a drabble, every word counts.
The submission form will open Feb 1 and close April 1!
