Little Free Libraries: Building Community Through Books
Wordbridge is proud to partner with Environment Lethbridge to place six Little Free Libraries around the city!
What is a Little Free Library?
A Little Free Library is a small, public book exchange, like a tiny outdoor bookshelf, where anyone can “take a book, leave a book.” They make books freely accessible, encourage reading, and bring neighbours together through the simple joy of sharing stories.
Why It Matters
Little Free Libraries are more than book boxes. They:
- Promote literacy and a love of reading.
- Build community by sparking conversations and connections.
- Provide free access to books for people of all ages.
- Support sustainability by keeping books in circulation and out of landfills.
By placing these libraries throughout Lethbridge, we’re creating opportunities for discovery, creativity, and community engagement, one book at a time.
How You Can Get Involved
We’re inviting community members, businesses, and organizations to help bring these Little Free Libraries to life.
For a $180 CAD sponsorship, you can support the installation and maintenance of a library. Your sponsorship can include:
- Your business name or logo proudly displayed on the library.
- A memorial dedicated to a loved one.
- Or simply the joy of knowing you’ve helped share the gift of reading.
Your contribution will help ensure these libraries remain vibrant, welcoming spaces for years to come.
Sponsor a Little Free Library today and be part of Lethbridge’s story-sharing community.
