Contests, Challenges, and Miscellaneous Creative Fun!
At Wordbridge, we’re always playing with words and finding new ways to get creative. Throughout the year, we offer a variety of informal contests, challenges, prompts, and other playful initiatives designed to help writers stretch their skills, try something new, and connect with our creative community.
Our activities may explore fiction, nonfiction, poetry, flash writing, storytelling, wordplay, and everything in between. Some challenges might invite you to respond to a theme or image, experiment with a new form, write within a tight word count, or simply share something you are proud of. Whether you are an experienced author, an emerging writer, or someone who just enjoys putting words on the page, everyone is welcome to participate!
These initiatives are meant to be low-pressure, encouraging, and fun. They are a chance to practise your craft, spark new ideas, break through creative blocks, and celebrate the joy of writing alongside others, both in-person in Lethbridge, Alberta, and online. Some activities may include prizes, small goodies, featured work, or other rewards. Others may offer nothing more—and nothing less—than creative satisfaction, community recognition, and well-earned bragging rights.
